![]() ![]() For dessert we had a chocolate soufflé with Baileys cream sauce, which was very satisfying. According to him, although it was tasty, the tomato overwhelmed the more delicate flavor of the seafood. My husband order the seafood Bolognese dish, which was a very large and beautifully presented portion. Tons of vinegar with greens is common in this area, but isn't to my taste. My only comment is that I had only two very small pieces of potato on my plate and a very large portion of overly vinegary green. For the entree, I had the butter steak, which was outstanding and perfectly cooked. The crunch would've been a nice addition. Both were very tasty, although I think the salad could've been better had the pears been uncooked. We started with corn soup and the poached pear salad. I had the strawberry fields cocktail and it was good, although I can't say I loved the basil. The wait staff and sommelier were very helpful and pleasant, but less formal in their manner than I would expect at this price range, which can be pretentious and so was not missed. We were seated at a lovely table with a good view of the open kitchen. ![]() The host staff were very friendly and accommodating. Although we were early, we were seated without an issue. We arrived on a very rainy day due to the hurricane sweeping by the coast and were thankfully greeted by very cheerful valets with umbrellas. Set off on a less traveled country road by a creek, you can't get more beautiful in this area of NC. ![]() Let me just start by saying that the setting and the actual building in which Artisanal is located are absolutely breathtaking. ![]()
